The Growing in Wax Test
The test I did with the carved wax seemed to be too small or too light. The root system pushed the grass up so they did not seem so inclined to continue to grow into the pattern I had carved into the wax. There was some sense of the pattern however, it was very faint and diminished further when the root system dried out.
The seedlings seem to grow better through a mesh rather than through the hessian which I think is too tight. Hessian seems to attract mould growth too which may compromise the root system.
Slow process, waiting for the grass to grow! Grow. Harvest. Consume … in more than one way. Processing and drinking the wheatgrass made me feel better about slicing the roots off and inducing the death of the plant. Weird psychology to feel concerned about cutting off the roots as I grow vegetables and don’t think about it usually.
