Template Patterns

I am creating patterns from photos from photographs I took in the first (and only) semester of the BFA. These were from a materials and processes paper which was purely about experimenting with materials and there was no context beyond that in the creating. (expand on why using)

Transforming the photograph to a vector and an outline for a laser cutter. They are still quite complex.

I am also using wax as a template and quite like the pattern created when wax naturally sets. Carving a pattern in this natural setting pattern lends to embracing natural process which I also quite like. I have been using this for smaller works.

I have also created wax templates drawing from the photographs. I do like using the wax because it can be melted down and reused and works created become more like one off prints.
