Root System Loom

I had an idea to create a type of Root System Weaving “Loom” (blog post Designing a Root Weaving Loom) and moved forward with creating a prototype. I wanted to view the root system growth and created clear acrylic reservoirs for roots to grow in and placed a mirror under the table which reflects the root systems and allows the viewer to see them.
I drew a concept drawing made models from matchboxes. These I then developed into a table-like root system loom. The table can be disassembled easily for transport.
